…school started + my first portrait painting

Hello ❤

I am stressed. I’ve had the entirety of 5 months to prepare for my senior year and yet I feel more unprepared than ever. College applications are looming, scholarship deadlines seem to be flying towards me, ACT and SAT prep is overwhelming and my schedule seems to be packed with important dates.

Today was the first day of school and to be honest with you, I’m already exhausted. I apologize in advance; my blogging schedule is going to switch up at least for August. Now that school has started, I’m going to shoot for one post every two weeks… but I hope I can get two in.

While I’ve had a tiring couple of weeks, I hit a really cool milestone! A couple weeks ago, I switched my Pinterest account to a business one and started uploading videos of my bullet journal. Yesterday I hit 100K monthly viewers! Thank you guys for everything.

I’ve been pretty overwhelmed but I wanted to post something to let you all know I’m not dead nor have I forgotten about you. Aaaand I recently painted my first ever portrait; here are some pictures!

I think the sketch looks better than the finished painting.

I’ve never really shaded this way or done a person’s face before so I’m pretty happy with the way that aspect turned out. As for the proportions, they could use work. You’ll really see what I mean when you see the finished comparison.

Here she is. She looked better bald… but I’m not angry at it. It could’ve been better, but a good painting for my first portrait, wouldn’t you agree?

The hand is unrealistically long. Whoops. Well, if you ask me, my painting could look like a real person. Just not the person in the reference photo.

Thank you for putting up with this mess of a post:)

See you in two weeks – or maybe sooner.

~Sera

Sorry I’ve been away from blogging but, I’m back!Hellllo😂😂
That portrait you made is pretty true to the picture. I’m a pretty terrible artists so, I’m impressed whenever people can “art”. I’m sorry school has started for you bc I’m not ready for senior year myself. If you don’t mind me asking, how are you finding scholarships to apply for? I’ve been looking for some the entire summer but can’t seem to find many.

Anyways, here’s to an amazing senior year and I hope your doing well 💖❤️👍

Hey girl!! I’m happy to hear from you:) And thank you, she looks a little wonky, haha!
I’ve been having some trouble with scholarships as well, a lot of the ones I’m applying for came to me through way of mouth. I tried a couple apps like Tallo but they didn’t really work for me. Basically what I’m doing now is looking at scholarships specific to colleges I’m applying to, if that’s helpful at all. let me know if you happen upon anything more useful; scholarships are difficult!
And cheers to our last year, thank God!

Same for me! I tried some tall and niche scholarships but, idk they don’t seem to be working. I am currently doing the scholarship on college board that is pretty legit. Thanks for the advice, that’s actually very smart to look at the scholarships specific to a college! The entire college process is tiring and long so, I wish u the best of luck 💖

True that – college is overwhelming. Hopefully the load decreases next semester:(
