september bullet journal setup📼🌈⚡️

Hello ❤

It’s been a crazy day, folks. Haha, Sera, it’s been a crazy two weeks- I managed to finish and photograph this September bujo setup all today. I’ve been planning it and thinking about what I wanted to do with it for a couple months – and it was definitely worth it. I am so pleased with how the theme turned out!

If you’re interested in watching the process of this month’s spread, head over to my Pinterest! I’ll be posting them this week.

As you can see above, September’s theme is vintage polaroid/music! I was scrolling through Pinterest this last July and came across the September (Earth Wind & Fire) album cover and got really inspired. I had to wait two months to execute the plan, though. The colors I focused on were vibrant; bright red, orange, yellow, a little muted green and an electric blue.

Last month, I started making collages with the aesthetic I liked and printing the pictures to add into my pages and I decided to do the same this month! It’s a super simple, easy and beautiful way to really get the look you want. I looked up “record aesthetic” and “vintage Polaroid aesthetic” to get these pictures. I love the quality and color combo of these photos – aren’t these so cool and sick to look at?

I’m very excited about the cover page. This might be the most creative page in my journal. Let me know if you listen to any of the musical artists I reference 🙂

Basically, I took a red piece of paper and cut a circle out of the middle. It’s hard to see, but I cut a small circle out of a white piece of paper and used colored pencils to make a red to yellow gradient. I imitated the music app look – how perfect was the song September? On the right page, I cut out a piece of newspaper and pasted my habit tracker on it. The little piece of paper that says “Free Estimate” in the corner is also from a newspaper. I incorporated the Polaroid colors at the top of the page to pull the pages together and added a couple lines here and there.

Our heads were ringing in the key that our souls were singing ~

September; Earth Wind & Fire

Did any of you notice the little hidden music reference on the second page? LOL, my art skills might be lacking. In the top right corner, I attempted to draw the crosswalk from the Beatles Abbey Road album cover.

Above is my dream log and memories page. The photo did not catch the red to blue colored pencil gradient I drew on top of the word “dream” but I swear it’s there. I took another piece of newspaper and pasted it in. The orange paper just pops.

As for the Memories page, the bottom part references the song “Memories” by John Lennon. I thought the photo of the girl taking a polaroid was fitting, as the page captures memories from each day.

This is my food log page; I’ve been logging what I eat for dinner each day. I wrote “Food Log” in black Sharpie then wrote “food log” with my Gelly Roll white pen on top.

On the right page, I decided to keep track of the money I spend this September. I drew a casette tape in the corner to bring in the “oldies” look. The pg also features the calendar, a place to put any notes and the quote:

Blackbird singing in the dead of night

Take these wings and learn to fly

The Beatles

Again, I brought the Polaroid colors in to pull everything together.

Finally, here is an example of the journal entries for each day this month! Last month I tried to do one day per page BUT I want to ration this journal so I can start a new one in January. Meaning, I had to start doing two days per page.

I also ran out of stick glue at this point and had to start using double sided tape. Stick glue is for sure superior.

What did you guys think of this September theme? Did you like the more vibrant color theme?

Thanks for reading 🙂

~Sera

Wow, I’m obsessed with this theme!! I’ve never seen it done before but, honestly it’s such a good one 👍
I love the Beatles in general but, Blackbird is one of their songs that makes me sad and is nostalgic for me😭

Hm… my favorite song from the Beatles is probably either Blackbird or Hey Jude 🙂

Hey Jude is another good one. I saw the movie Yesterday( which was kinda about the Beatles) last year and they made fun of that song and called it Hey Dude 😂

I enjoyed it so, yes I would. It’s humorous and of course they sing some great Beatle songs! As you like the Beatles I’m sure that you would enjoy it and get there references:)

Hm… I’ve been so busy with schoolwork and college applications lately that I haven’t had a chance to watch anything. Have you seen the movie Train to Bhusan? It’s more of a thriller (with zombies) but I really enjoyed it. It’s also a father-daughter story, which is cute<3

I know what you mean. The college process is heavy and I’m also trying to find me way around that.
No, I haven’t watched it or even heard of it but wow, I like how that sounds. Zombie movies can always be such fun to watch with the intense action. I’m on it !
